Excel Join On Column

I have two databases that have a common field. Is there a way to join these tables in a query using these two fields, even though the data type is different? (I keep getting a type mismatch error)
One database has a number stored as text and the other has it stored as a number. (There are no leading zero's in any of the numbers)
Please keep in mind that the size of these databases are large, so running a separate process to convert the strings into numbers or vise versa is not an option, plus I do not maintain these databases and have no ability to modify the field settings.

Excel Join Two Sheets On Column

And here's how you can accomplish the task: On your Excel ribbon, go to the Ablebits tab Merge group, and click the Combine Sheets button: Select all the worksheets you want to merge into one. If you'd like to combine just one table, not all data, hover over. Choose the columns you want to. You can merge (combine) rows from one table into another simply by pasting the data in the first empty cells below the target table. The table will increase in size to include the new rows. If the rows in both tables match up, you can merge the columns of one table with another—by pasting them in the first empty cells to the right of the table.
